Successful Inspiration Evening Reading Express

On Tuesday evening, November 16, the annual inspiration evening for volunteers of the VoorleesExpress took place in the library of Noordwijk. During this evening, the volunteers are traditionally put in the spotlight and workshops are offered to inspire the reading processes. Project leader Mijs Besseling expressed her thanks and admiration for all volunteers of the... VoorleesExpress Bollenstreek and looked back on the past year with them.

Reading consultant Brigitte Kerkhoven gave a workshop Interactive Reading. And Romina de Lima-van Gent, researcher in educational sciences, gave a lecture about digital picture books. Finally, the volunteers received a beautiful book as a gift. Everyone went home with a big smile. It was an inspiring evening, full of valuable exchanges. The VoorleesExpress supports families with children aged 2 to 8 years in the Bollenstreek who have difficulties with language.

A volunteer will come and read to them every week for twenty weeks (or online for ten weeks). In this way, children expand their vocabulary and develop their sense of language. Moreover, they discover how much fun books are. The VoorleesExpress is regularly looking for volunteer readers and coordinators. Do you like to help children who have difficulties with language and do you like to contribute to society in this way? Then become a reader or coordinator at the VoorleesExpress and bring reading pleasure into your home! More information can be found at .
